PTI's Stamp-a-faire Challenge 9

Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a long time, ahh. I really have just been so super busy with the two new pups and potty training. Oh my gosh, how long is it supposed to take to potty train two labs? Hehe. They are so sweet though, I'll post pictures. I thought a little challenge would help me get back into the swing of things, so here is a card I made for Papertrey Ink's challenge today. The challenge was to look at stamps in a new way. I thought it would be fun to make a flower and then use my sentiment stamps to create the stem and leaves. I do like that idea, I am sure I will do it again. Enjoy! I used PTI's Beautiful Blooms II, Butterfly Dreams, and Calendar Basics.

I'll get some puppy pics up here in just a couple minutes! :)

Have a great one,

My Core’dinations Creative Frenzy

Good day everyone!!
I have been super busy lately, my husband and I just got two yellow lab puppies and we have been busy with them! But I saw this design team call and knew I had to do it. This post has to have three projects using Core'dinations cardstock. It could be any three projects, but what better way to showcase core'dination cardstock than with a card, layout, and a mini book. The cardstock is so versatile, I did a fun card, a wedding layout, and a boy themed minibook.

Project #1
This is a fun little card I created. The pink cardstock is core'dinations cardstock. I simply embossed and sanded either side of the cardstock leaving a unembossed strip in the middle. This is where I put my flower and sentiment. I layered it all on some black cardstock from my stash and ta-da, fantastic easy card. Did I mention I sanded around the core'dination cardstock to give it some rough edges? Love that effect.

Project #2
This is a wedding layout I did of my own wedding. This is all core'dinations cardstock. I love the pearlized cardstock for the back ground. This layout was super easy to make although it may not look that way. Again, I embossed some core'dination cardstock and lightly sanded over the raised portion. I also sanded in some of the negative space of the embossed design to give it a little something extra. Then I took a q-tip and some ink and colored in the embossed image. Love how that looks! Of course, the corner rounder was a big part of this layout. It adds a little extra something. A ribbon, button and pearls complete the look, along with some glitter alphabet stickers. :)

Project #3
This is a minibook that I created for my nephew. I wanted it to be simple and easy. Something that I wouldn't be super upset if it got lost or damaged. But I also wanted it to be fun, modern, and boyish* (*note: cool). Core'dinations cardstock again gave me the tools I needed to complete this project. I embossed several pieces of core'dination cardstock and sanded the embossed area. I also flipped the paper over and embossed the opposite side of the cardstock, then ran my ink pad over the raised areas to create a matching yet different look. So easy! I glued the cardstock to some coasters and punched holes in each 'page' using my crop-a-dile. The best part of the whole minibook is the front cover. I took all my leftover different colored pieces of core'dination cardstock, sanded it well, crumpled it up and smoothed it back out, tore it in pieces and glued it down on the coaster. I absolutely love how it turned out, and it looks really cool too. I think my nephew will approve. A few diecuts and pictures make this a fun and simple minibook.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my post! Thank you core'dinations for taking the time to look and/or consider me for your design team!

I'll be back soon with a few other projects I've put together. :)

PTI Make It Monday!

Hello all,
I'm participating in this weeks Make It Monday on Nichole Heady's blog from PTI. When I saw the Make It Monday for this week, I knew I had to play along, I just love this technique. The technique is to take a piece of scor-tape and use it as glue for glitter. I used Berry Sorbet and Stampers Select White cardstock from PTI, Beautiful Blooms II and Signature Greetings stamp sets, scor tape, Martha Stewart Onyx glitter, and Basic Black and Cameo Coral Stampin' Up Ink. I like the way it all came together, check it out!

PTI Button Challenge!!

Well I had good intentions last night for many more posts, and I fell asleep at nine by accident. Whoops! I only woke up at 2 this morning so I guess I needed some sleep. Go figure! Anywho, another challenge issued by Nichole Heady's blog today! Goodness, they have some fantastic releases this month (as with every month!) But today's challenge is a button challenge, using buttons in a unique way. Now I'm going to venture a guess and say that this has been done before, but not by me! So here is today's card!

Hooray! A birthday card! And let me tell you, this may be my new favorite PTI color combo. I really enjoy it. :) Vintage cream (A new favorite of mine!), Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Aqua Mist, and Enchanted Evening. I used my Imagine and the Straight From The Nest cartridge as well as Doodlecharms for the present. Orange Zest buttons and Rustic Cream button twine for the banner (my first banner card! And I LOVE it!). Red stickles from Ranger Ink for the fun glitter on the package, a brad from my stash (I could not tell you where it is from, so sorry!). Mega Mixed Messages and some orange Stampin' Up ink finish up the card.

I need to clean this scrap room! I've been creating like mad and the only thing that does for me is want to create more! I have a couple magazine submissions that I want to work on, and I need to do a few more birthday cards for sure. Plus, I need to take pictures of my new room! You all can be the judge on if it's "too bright" or if it's fantastic!! ;)

Catch ya later!

PTI Color Challenge Part Deux

Woweee, lots of posts today!

So my next color challenge choice was Ripe Avocado (adore this color), Ocean Tides, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate.

This card is really simple. Standard A2 sized card, corner rounder, RickRack die by PTI, Butterfly Dreams stamp set, mega mixed messages stamp set, a brown gel pen, and some rhinestones from K&Company finish it off. Just a card to say hello to someone special! :)

I'll be back, I'm not through yet! Need to take a break to clean the mudroom. Major painting going on next week. Anyway, I need birthday cards, so I'll surely make some of those tonight! There are four more color combos I'd like to try, lets see how many I can get done! ;)

Cheers,

PTI Color Challenge!!

Let's face it, sometimes you can envision a card, and when all is said and done you are completely off track. That's what happened with this card, although I still like it, I was totally going to use a butterfly when I realized I've been a little butterfly crazy as of late, so I used a dragonfly. ;)

So the color challenge combo I used was Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain, Dark Chocolate and Kraft. All PTI colors. I used a Martha Stewart border punch, and used my Imagine machine (!) and the gypsy wandering cartridge for the leaves and dragonfly. Mega mixed messages complete the card, with a get well on the left. Why do sentiments always have to be on the right? Hehe. I know, it's deep stuff. ;)
